Another great year at Jimmy’s Double D Fishing Trip, version 11 on Lake Nipissing with a 5 day, 4 night stay for 20 participants at Nipissing Lodge, a short boat ride from Wade’s Landing. As always, the food, accommodations and fellowship was excellent. The executive committee and all of the participants want to thank Tim and Fran at Nipissing Lodge for all of their help during the trip – a better group of hosts you will not find! Full bellies all around at our annual fish fry on Saturday evening!
Fishing this year was fantastic with size of fish and numbers of fish well up from previous years. All but 2 participants entered fish in all three tournament categories.
Catch, measure and photograph, and release tournaments were held over four days in each of three categories: walleye, pike/musky and bass (using total length of each participants top three fish in each category). The entire group would like to thank the various sponsors who provided a pile of prizes for the tournaments. Congrats to this year’s overall champion, Ben Yost, who also took first place and big fish honors in the walleye and pike/musky divisions! Looking forward to JDD XII, next year!
